Rare & Glass Grip - Army Dagger by R. Büchel

Please note this item is no longer available and you were redirected to our Archives.

A rare glass grip Model 1935 - Wehrmacht Heer Dolch by Rudolf Büchel of Solingen-Merscheid. The blade on this one looks good. The acid etched “Rudolf Büchel Solingen-Merscheid” maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed. The crossgrain is easily visible as you shine it in the light. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates Exc++/NM. It shows some age grey and spotting alogn with the commonly seen surface scratches throughout. The leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based, nickel silver plated scabbard provides wonderful detail with the random pebbling and oak leaf and acorn bands. There is a large dent to both sides of the tip. The original throat retaining screws remains intact. The nickel-silver plated eagle crossguard provides beautiful details throughout the eagle’s head, wings, wreath, beak and chest. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns throughout. The desirable orange specked glass grip is a great feature! There is a chip to the reverse top. A rare blade and a nice grip!
