The blade on this one is nice! Someone has cleaned it. The tip is perfect, the fit is perfect, the acid etched maker mark is beautifully executed and there is some pitting right next to the guard on the reverse. This blade rates a Exc+. The nickel plated hilt fittings are in fine shape with all matching patina. About 99% of the plating remains. The "art-deco" style crossguard looks excellent! The black hardwood grip is in nice condition with just a couple wee flakes next to the lower obverse. The rare 1st pattern RLB insignia was loose in the box when this was received. I glued it back into place. No you would never know but I do so as always when ever I do any restoration I share it with you. The enamel is about 96%. The enamel on these are so thin, and they did not stand up. The black enameled painted scabbard has 99% paint coverage and remains dent-free. The nickel plated scabbard fitting have nice matching patina. All the screws are intact and unturned. It all fits fine and comes with a beautiful factory issued Assmann marked hanger. Overall an excellent early solid nickel example! Don’t let someone take this before you!
