Here's a really nice degan Purchased months ago. It came in rough and required restoration but the result is very nice. The blade on this one looks great. On arrival the blade was badly bent, the restorer straightened it and you would never know. It has the original matte finish to the blade with no sharpening. The tip is perfect, the fit is nice and tight and the stamped 2nd version "large lobster" Krebs maker mark looks great! The 31" blade rates NM. The white buffer pad is a replacement. The black enamel repainted scabbard is in great shape. The paint is really well done. There is the remnants of two wee hits the the lower reverse you can find by holding the scabbard just so in the sun. There are a couple scuffs to the paint but that's it. The upper SS proofed scabbard fitting has nicely patinaed, remaining secured with two dome head screws. The plated hilt has even patina and the plating is better than 99%. The grip is in fine shape with no chips or splits. The cast ferrule is nicely detailed with handwork throughout. The pommel nut has the SS cast runes in place. Overall a nice restored example!
