Great Navy sword here with lots of extra cost options. Just a ton of work in these. This one has an original special order WKC marked damascus blade. There has been no sharpening and I'll rate it conservatively Exc++. It's been cleaned along the way but really no issues. The buffer pad is lost to time. The elaborate leather scabbard is in good shape as are the undented hand hammered fittings. The staples all remain. The leather has at some point been bent or folded as sometimes happens with these. The celluloid grip is in good condition with the original brass wire wrap. There is some minor wear to the grip and two cracks to the lower two ribs, one on each side. I have spread the portepee so you can clearly see what's going on there. Of course you can slide the cord down to hide this but I want full disclosure so you don't have any nasty surprises! The entire hilt is brass based and hand chased with great care. The fold down rear of the guard functions correctly and locks the scabbard in place. The ferrule has wee leaf motif. The tang has been expertly hidden with hand work disguising it into the lion's mane. Really all in all an excellent example you will be proud to own.
