A Model 1934 - Sturmabteilung Ehrendolch mit Widmung by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen. This piece has never been in a collection and is “untouched”. E. Rohm Honor daggers were granted to members of the SS/SA who either had uninterrupted service since December 31st 1931 or those who transferred from the Hitler Youth prior to December 31st 1931. After the Night of the Long Knives, Ernst Röhm was declared a “traitor” and removal of the inscription was mandated. To have the full inscription was against command, which makes this a rare and desirable piece… The blade on this, is one to be cherished! The entire “In herzlicher kameradschaft Ernst Röhm” motto is completely intact and is positioned exactly where it should be. The “Alles für Deutschland” motto and “Carl Eickhorn Solingen” maker mark are all beautifully executed! The crossgrain shines quite nicely in the light and can be seen the full length of the blade. The fit and tip are both perfect as well! The blade rates Exc++/NM. It shows age grey and minor spotting throughout along with the common runner marks. The steel based, brown anodized scabbard is wonderful! It retains 95%+ of its original factory lacquer! A rare treat! The solid nickel scabbard fittings look wonderful! The ball is perfectly round and all four screws remain intact. The solid nickel scabbard fittings look wonderful as well matching the scabbard fittings in color and patina. The reverse of the lower crossguard is stamped “Ho” (Hochland). No bench mark. The crossguard / grip fits are near perfect! The brown grained hardwood grip is in wonderful shape! It has the odd pressure mark but that’s it! No cracks, chips or splits. The solid nickel eagle has excellent detail and a perfect fit. The SA roundel retains 99% of its enamel and also has a perfect fit. A great opportunity to be the first collector to own this piece!
