A nice personalized 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger by Weyersberg! The plated blade on this one looks good! The dark and crisp "Paul Weyersberg Solingen" maker mark and stamped inspection stamped eagle are both beautifully executed! It has a perfect tip and solid fit. The blade on this one rates a NM. It has a couple dots of age towards the tip holding this back from being mint. The original leather buffer pad remains intact. The whole exterior has nicely patinaed. The steel based, undented airplane grey plated scabbard looks to have been cleaned of some oxidatiob at some point. By who? when? where? etc, I have no idea! It depicts good details throughout, with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. It remains completely dent free and both throat retaining screws remain intact! The aluminum eagle crossguard has nice detail to its head, feathers, wings and top side oak leaves and acorns. The reverse is Jeweler personalized and reads: “GB”. The pommel is beautifully hand enhanced. The early trylon grip has aged to a dark orange/brown over time being one tone darker to the obverse as time and UV exposure has done it's magic. I see no chracks or chips. The early brass springy wire wrap remains intact. It comes with a nice 23cm portepee. A fine piece!
