Beauty Early Japanese Navy Dirk

This is a high quality 1883 patterned WWII Imperial Japanese Naval officer dirk. This example is of early construction with machine made 8.25" blade. The blade is nice and clean. No sharpening or damage, a nice example. The crossguard is well marked. The grip is triple brass wire wrapped over ray-skin. All grip wire and fittings to include the brass cherry blossom on either side are intact and quite nice! The saya (scabbard) is wood with polished shark skin cover. It is flawless. Both fittings have nice detail. The lock works perfectly.
