The Sudetenland medal was awarded to all German military personnel who participated in the occupation of Sudetenland and the occupation of Czechoslovakia in March 1939.It is constructed out of a die struck tombak base that has been bronze washed. The obverse depicts two unclothed men (one has a chain around his right wrist, the other is holding an NSDAP flag on a pole) that are standing on a pedestal that has a German national eagle on it. The reverse reads: “1. Oktober 1938 Ein Volk Ein Reich Ein Führer” (October 1 1938 One People, One Empire, One Leader). To the top of the medal is a soldered on loop and ring which holds approximately 4 inches of red, black and white folded rayon ribbon. It measures approximately 1 ¼ inches in diameter. The detail is good with some evidence of wear.
