American Campaign Medal

A WWII American Campaign Medal. The medal was intended to recognize those military members who had performed military service in the American Theater of Operations during World War II. It is construcrted out of a die struck bronze base. The obverse features a sinking enemy submarine, a Navy cruiser and a B-24 Liberator bomber flying overhead a city, all underneath an arched “Ameican Campaign”. The reverse depicts an American bald eagle between the dates “1941 – 1945” (left) and “United States of America” (right). To the top is an integral loop and ring which holds blue, white, red and black folded ribbon with a pin to the back. It measures 1 ¼ inches in diameter. A nice one!
