Cased US World War II Victory Medal

The World War II Victory Medal Awarded for service in the armed forces between the dates of 7 December 1941 and 31 December 1946. It is constructed out of a die struck bronze base that has been bronze washed. The round shaped obverse features a figure of a Liberation standing full length with head turned to dexter looking to the dawn of a new day, right foot resting on a war god’s helmet with the hilt of a broken sword in the right hand and the broken blade in the left hand above sun rays and flanked by “World” (left) and “War II” (right). The reverse features a palm branch and reads: “Freedom from Fear and Want and Freedom of Speech and Religion” surrounded by “United States of America 1941 1945”. To the top is a ball loop and ring that holds the appropriate ribbon and pin attachment. The award measures 1 2/2 inches in diameter. It comes housed in its original pressed cardboard case with tag and personalization. A great piece!
