This is a well marked example. The blade on this one has some age I have not tried to clean. The fit is tight and the tip is perfectly pointed! The blade rates Exc+. The blade measures 8 1/4 inches long. The black saya (scabbard) is wood based, leather covered and lacquered with all stitching intact. It has some scrapes but still looks good. The saya has two brass based scalloped fittings. They show wonderful detail with several leaves and cherry blossoms throughout. The top clip works well! The brass based fitting are all matching. The grip is tightly brass wire wrapped, one of the three wires is lost to time and the center one has oxidized. I have not tried to clean this. The pebbled ray skin and seamed to the side. It has two cherry blossoms over the mekugi (peg).
