“Der Stahlhelm” 50th Anniversary of WWI 1968
A 1918-1968 “Der Stahlhelm” 50th Anniversary of the End of the Great War Badge in Bückeburg by Ferdinand Hoffstätter of Bonn am Rhein. It is constructed out of a die struck nickel base that has been silver washed and black painted. The shield shaped obverse features; the Der Stahlhelm helmet emblem, above two crossed oak leaves, “1918-1968” and “Bückeburg”, flanked by “Bundes-Tagung” (left) and “14./15. Sept 1968” (right), all on a black background. The full back reverse is maker marked “Hoffstätter Bonn” has a horizontally soldered on rectangular plate that holds a well working pin assembly. It measures 1 3/8 inches wide by 1 7/8 inches tall. A nice Der Stahlhelm membership piece.
