An Early Model 1933 SA Dagger (Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch) by Paul Seilheimer of Solingen. The blade on this is ok. The acid etched “Alles für Deutschland” motto and “PS Paul Seilheimer Solingen” maker mark are both dark, crisp and nicely executed! Some crossgrain remains visible as you shine it in the light. The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit remains nice and tight! This blade rates Exc. It shows age and has been sharpened leaving heavy surface scratches throughout, yet it continues to measures the full 220mm long. The scabbard is steel based and brown anodized. It remains completely dent free and holds a wonderful finish! The solid nickel-silver scabbard fittings are in excellent shape, matching the crossguards in color and patina. The ball retains a nice round shape. All four scabbard screws remain tightly intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is near perfect and closes with a snap! The reverse of the lower crossguard is marked “Ns” (Niedersachsen). The brown hardwood grip looks great. It several pressure marks throughout and a crack above the roundel. The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel has a perfect fit and retains 99%+ of its enamel. This one comes with an excellent one-piece hanger! It has a well working clip. A solid example!
