The tank destruction badge in silver was instituted by Hitler on March 9, 1942 to honor individuals who single handedly destroyed an enemy tank with hand held explosives! This award features a centrally placed, die stuck, steel based, burnished tank, that is secured by three prongs to a machine embroidered, silver bullion cloth. The cloth has two horizontal black cotton lines running through it and has a piece of moth eaten wool attached to the back. The tank features little oxidization spotting and depicts wonderful detail! Just look at all of the wheels and gears! Nice! An award that is truly hard to find!
