Eickhorn K98 Bayonet 1944

Here's a desirable one, I love these last ditch bayonets with the rough finishes! The blade on this one rates NM! The tip and fit are perfect, 97% of the bluing remains intact except where it has rubbed the runners from drawing it in and out. It is nicely maker marked! The blade is stamped cof44 indicating the year of construction (1944) and the manufacturer code for Eickhorn. The blade is also stamped "1006 L", matching the scabbard. The scabbard is in nice shape! It shows little wear, only surface scratches. It has it's side screw and remains completely dent free! The hilt is in excellent shape as well! The brown multi-toned late-war bake-lite grip plates are in beautiful condition! No chips or splits. looks like someone removed the plates at some point as the screws have been turned. :( People do this sometimes to peek at the markings under the grip plates. I just wish they would use the right screwdriver. Anyways i wanted you to know. This piece is inspection stamped to the ball. Overall this is a great piece! Included is a nicely marked late -war frog. Someone reinforced the straps after they were broke.
