An Imperial Extraseitengewehr by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen. The sawback fullered 9 7/8 inch plated blade on this one looks great. The stamped Dual Squirrel “CE” maker mark is nicely executed. The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit is nice and tight. The saw back teeth look excellent. The blade rates Exc++/NM. It shows plating wear, spotting and surface scratches throughout. The buffer pad is lost to time. The steel based black enamel painted scabbard looks excellent. It retains 99% of its original paint coverage. It continues to remain completely dent free. The original throat retaining screw and frog lug remain intact. The ball remains perfectly round. The steel based, nickel-silver plated hilt looks great as well. It retains 99%+ of a plating coverage. The black checkered bakelite grip plates are in near perfect condition. A small chip out of the back. They are tightly secured to the hilt with three steel rivets. The push button continues to work well! It comes with a Yugoslavian Mauser M1948 Bayonet Frog. A neat piece!
