A Model 1936 Chained – Nationalsozialistisches Kraftfahrkorps Dienstdolch für Führer by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen 1941. The blade on this one is stunning! The acid etched “Alles für Deutschland” motto and “RZM M7/66 1941” maker mark are both dark, crisp and beautifully executed! They truly provide a wonderful contrast to the bright blade! The crossgrain is stunning and runs the full length of the blade. It has a perfect tip and perfect fit. The blade rates an easy NM/Mint-! It shows the slightest spotting and the common runner marks but I’m being anal! The steel based black enamel painted scabbard is in great condition. As with most of these the chain hits the scabbard and chips the paint. This one looks great and 90%+ paint coverage remains. It is also completely dent free! It only shows minor spidering throughout. The steel based, nickel-silver plated scabbard fittings look great. They retain 97% plating coverage and continue to remain nice and bright! The ball has some bruises to its bottom and all five screws remain intact! The steel based, nickel-silver plated chain is also in excellent shape! The obverse NSKK eagles, sun wheel swastikas and Nordic triangular “Thurs” rune (symbolizing the power of the God Thor) are all beautifully detailed! The correct links are stamped “NSKK Korpsfuhrung Musterschutz” and “A RZM M5/8” (F. W. Assmann & Söhne of Lüdenscheid). The clip continues to function well! A beautiful chain! The crossguards are zinc based nickel-silver plated. They show that bubbling, especially by the grip, that is typical of these. The grained hardwood grip looks great. It has a few pressure marks and one hairline crack below the roundel. The aluminum eagle has nice detail and sits perfectly in the grip. The roundel retains 100% of its enamel and also has a perfect fit. We only ever get a few of these so if you’ve been looking now is your chance!
