A matching textbook Type 2 Alsoco Model 1935 Wehrmacht Heer Dolch. The blade on this one looks good. The acid etched “Alsoco ACS Solingen” maker mark is dark crisp and beautifully executed. The crossgrain is easily visible, as you shine it in the light, all the way from the hilt to the tip. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates Exc++. It shows age grey, spotting and surface scratches throughout. The large leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based, nickel silver plated scabbard provides wonderful detail with the random pebbling and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands! There is one pressure mark to the right hand side just below the top band. The original throat retaining screws remains intact. The nickel-silver plated eagle crossguard shows some age to the chest and beak and still looks good. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns throughout. The orange trylon grip is in good condition. It is cracked all the way through at the center. A fine early example with all the correct fittings!
