Rare - Early Model 1933 Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch by Ehr. Reich of Schweina. This one rates 9 out of 10 for rarity on McSaar's SA rarity ratting. The blade on this one looks good. The acid etched “Alles für Deutschland” motto and “Her. Reich Schweina” maker mark are both dark, crisp and beautifully executed! The crossgrain is visible as you shine it in the light. The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. This blade rates an Exc++. It shows age grey areas and surface scratches throughout. This one comes with a buffer pad that has clearly been on there its whole life. Its not considered textbook and I’ve seen it several times. The steel based brown anodized scabbard looks great. There is some oxidization spotting yet it remains dent free and continues to hold some of its original factory lacquer! The solid nickel scabbard fittings look excellent. The ball remains perfectly round and al four scabbard screws remain tightly intact. The reverse of the lower crossguard is marked “Mi” (Mitte). The brown hardwood grip is in excellent shape and it also holds some of its original factory lacquer! It has a perfect fit to the crossguards. It shows minor pressure marks throughout and a crack above the roundel. The solid nickel eagle retains beautiful details. The SA roundel has a perfect fit and retains 99%+ of its enamel. A great rarer example!
