The cleaned blade on this one has water stains towards the tip. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfectly sharp point and lots of crossgrain remains. The acid etched "Alles fur Deutschland" motto and "Wilh. Kober & Co. Suhl GeGr. 1874" maker mark both look great! The blade rates an Exc. It has been cleaned and shows age spotting throughout. The steel based brown anodized scabbard body looks good! It continues to hold 60% of its original finish with the rest worn down to the base metal. It continues to remain dent free! The solid nickel scabbard fittings and crossguards match in color and wear. The ball has a hit to the reverse to the side. it's not flattened like so many. Four screws remain intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is near perfect and closes with a snap! The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gau stamped "Th" (Thuringen). The grip / crossguard fits are near perfect! The brown/red wood grip looks good. There are several pressure marks but no chips or cracks. The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed. The SA roundel also has a perfect fit and retains 99% of its enamel. Overall it's a fine piece at a great price!
