Here's a decent example. The blade on this one has some age and spotting. The acid etched "Arbeit adelt" motto and maker mark are both dark. The blade has been cleaned at some point. The tip and fit are both perfect! The blade rates an easy Exc/Exc+. The steel based, nickel plated scabbard has a dent to the lower obverse. Hard to see but you can find it with your fingers. See the "shadow" to the obverse where the crossguard protected the scabbard from the elements? Cool, you just can't fake this stuff! The plating is good and the silver is darkened over time. I'm temped to polish but I leave that to you. It also retains wonderful details throughout, with the burnished: decorative swirls, random pebbling and wheat leaves! Both throat retaining screws remain intact! The scabbard fits the hilt perfectly! The alloy based, nickel plated and burnished hilt suffer plating loss. It retains good detail with the proud RAD logo to the front crossguard and eagle head on the pommel! The plating on these zinc based hilts is prone to loss as you can see. I think this could look much better with a good cleaning. The grip plates are tightly fit and the reverse suffers a cracks. Avery reasonably priced example.
