A rare model 1933 SA Dagger (Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch) by Undine - Kuno Meissenburg of Solingen. The blade on this one is bright but with spotting and age. The acid etched "Alles fur Deutschland" motto and "Undine Solingen" manufacturer's mark are both beautifully executed! The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. There are traces of crossgrain remaining. The blade rates an easy Exc. It shows typical age spotting/grey and surface scratches throughout. The steel based brown anodized scabbard looks good. Likely 60%+ of the original lacquer remains. It holds a nice brown finish to it. The solid nickel silver scabbard fittings look great! The ball has a bump to the very bottom. All four screws remain intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The crossguards match the scabbard fittings in wear, color and patina. The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gruppe stamped "Wm". The grip / crossguard fits are near perfect. The brown hardwood grip is crisp and crack-free. Normal wee hits and bumps consistent with period wear can be seen. The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel also has a perfect fit and retains 99%+ of its enamel. A very nice and rare piece that will fit in well with your collection!
