The bright blade on this one looks great! The dark and crisp acid etched “Alles fur Deutschland” motto and “SMF Solingen” maker mark are both beautifully executed! The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point! This blade rates Exc+. It shows the common clouding, age and evidence of old fingerprints. The black period repainted scabbard looks excellent! It shows the common light surface oxidation. It remains completely dent free and holds a nice finish to it! The solid nickel scabbard fittings look great and have nicely patinaed with age. They match the crossguards in color, patina and condition. The ball is banged in to the very bottom and all four screws remain tightly intact, (one is a replacement). The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The reverse of the lower crossguard is marked, “Ns”. The attractive redwood grip looks excellent! It shows the common pressure marks throughout. There is a hirline at the top crossguard fit in the center. There are no flakes or chips. The grip / crossguard fits are near perfect! The solid nickel eagle retains beautiful details. The SA roundel has a perfect fit and retains 80% of its enamel. A fine example of an early SA Dagger!
