Here we have an Early Model 1933 SA Dagger (Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch) by Christianswerk of Solingen. The blade on this one looks good. The acid etched "Alles für Deutschland" motto and "Christianswerk Solingen" maker mark are both beautifully executed! This has been cleaned and no crossgrain remains. The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit remains nice and tight! This blade rates a Exc+. It shows age spotting, age grey and the common runner marks/surface scratches throughout. The scabbard is steel based and brown anodized. It shows surface scratches throughout and two dents to the reverse. The finish has worn thin showing the base metal in some areas. The scabbard fittings are solid nickel-silver. They have normal wee bumps and hits. The ball is undamaged. All four scabbard screws remain tightly intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is near perfect! The reverse of the lower crossguard is stamped "Nrh" (Niederrhein). The chip and crack-free brown hardwood grip looks good. It has wee hits and knocks from normal wear. The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed and has a near perfect fit. The SA roundel is worn yet has a perfect fit and retains 99%+ of its enamel. A fine piece.
