An early rare maker model 1933 Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch Herbertz & Meurer of Solingen on this one! It rates 8 out of 10 on McSarr's SA rarity rating. Blade is a cleaned example with evidence of some gray. Still retains its original shape without sharpening or retipping. Some light in/out marks. The blade grades a conservative Exc. Scabbard is nice with 99%+ of its' repainted finish. The repaint looks modern to me but who knows. It's more red than brown but certainly not offensive. Of course it's got all nickel fittings and all screws are intact. The fittings all show light period wear, ball is perfect. All the patina is matching and the fits are as you expect to see on an early piece. Handle shows some flakes and a crack to the lower reverse right. Perfect inlays and 99% roundel enamel is intact. There are some light pressure marks here and there as we usually see. All the fits are fine. Lower crossguard is gau stamped "He".
