Early SA Dagger by Ernst Grah

Please note this item is no longer available and you were redirected to our Archives.

An early model 1933 Personalized SA dagger by Ernst Grah of Solingen-Wald. This one rates 9 out of 10 for rarity on McSaar's SA rarity rating! The blade on this one has some age but still retains good crossgrain. The acid etched "Alles fur Deutschland" motto and maker mark are slightly faded, likely by cleaning at some point. This maker is not known for having a strong etch. The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point! This blade rates Exc+. The brown repainted scabbard shows wear and chipping throughout. It remains completely dent free! The solid nickel nonmagnetic scabbard fittings have been chrome plated. When? where? by who, I have no idea. The ball has small bruises and all four screws remain tightly intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The reverse of the lower crossguard is marked "Nm", albeit lightly. The dark brown grained hardwood grip has minor pressure marks from normal period wear and some flakes to the lower obverse crossguard fits. The solid nickel eagle retains beautiful details and has a nice fit. The SA roundel has a perfect fit and retains 100% of its enamel. If you can forgive the scabbard fittings you found yourself a bargain.
