SMF truly made some wonderful 2nd Model Luftwaffe Daggers! The more desirable plated blade on this one has a darkly executed "SMF Solingen" maker mark, with a perfectly stamped proof mark just above it! It has a perfect tip and perfect fit. The plating looks good with some old fingerprint stains. Sounds bad but it's not too bad at all. The blade on this one rates Exc. The original blue pebbled buffer pad remains intact. The correct SMF steel based, plated scabbard looks excellent! It depicts awesome details throughout, with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. It remains completely dent free and the two headless retaining screws remain intact! The correct aluminum bands perfectly match the pommel. The SMF Luftwaffe eagle crossguard has amazing detail to its head, feathers, wings and top side oak leaves and acorns. The aluminum pommel is beautifully hand enhanced to the sides and has those two proud gold gilded swastika you want to see, surrounded by oak leaves and acorns. 99% of the gold gilding remains intact! Just beautiful! The early trylon grip has aged to a nice orange-yellow over time being one tone darker to the obverse. It has a few minor marks from honest period wear. There are no chips or cracks. The aluminum springy wire wrap remains tightly intact. Included is the original portepee with a but of wear and the hangers this also came with. I like keeping this stuff all together. A nice
