Early SA Dagger by C. Eppenstein

Please note this item is no longer available and you were redirected to our Archives.

A fairly rare, 8/10 on the McSaar, early model 1933 Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch by C.Eppenstein of Solingen. The bright blade on this one looks good! It has been cleaned. The acid etched "Alles fur Deutschland" motto and maker mark are beautifully executed but a bit lightened from the cleaning. The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a sharp point. The blade rates an Exc+. The brown painted undented scabbard body has a nice finish to it. The solid nickel, scabbard fittings look good. The ball has been banged in. All four screws remain intact. The crossguards look good as well. The reverse of the lower crossguard is lightly marked "Ho". The hardwood grip looks great! No chips, cracks or flaking. The grip / crossguard fits are near perfect! The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel also has a perfect fit and retains 100% of its enamel! Oh yea, this one comes with a well-worn, well-working 2 piece hanger at no extra cost to you.
