SA Partial Röhm by E.P&S.

A Model 1934 - Sturmabteilung Ehrendolch mit teilweise Widmung by Ernst Pack & Sohne of Solingen. Ernst Röhm Honor daggers were granted to members of the SS/SA who either had uninterrupted service since December 31st 1931 or those who transferred from the Hitler Youth prior to December 31st 1931. After the Night of the Long Knives, Ernst Röhm was declared a “traitor” and removal of the inscription was mandated. This is a factory ground Rohm, most of these never made it out of the factory being reground before issue removing the inscription. The bright blade on this one looks great. The acid etched "Alles fur Deutschland" motto is beautifully executed and the "E. P. & S. Solingen" maker mark remains 97% intact, a bit was removed during the regrinding process. It has a perfect fit and perfect tip! The blade rates in at an Exc+/Exc++. it has been cleaned at some point. The steel based, brown anodized scabbard looks good! It continues to remain completely dent free! The ball on the lower scabbard fitting is perfect. All four screws remain intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect! The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gau stamped "Nrh". The grip / crossguard fits are near perfect! The brown hardwood grip looks excellent. There are minor pressure marks and wee rubs throughout but no chips or cracks. The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed and has a perfect fit! The SA roundel also has a perfect fit and retains 99% of its enamel. A fine example at an attractive price!
