An Early Model 1933 Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch by Solinger MetallwaffenFabrik of Solingen. The bright blade on this one is very bright, it's been polished hard, in the process some of the etch has been lightened. The fits remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point! This blade rates Exc+. It shows some stain. The brown anodized scabbard looks good! It shows a couple dots of surface oxidation. It also has a small small crease 2" north of the obverse lower fitting. You can see it but turning this in the sun. The solid nickel scabbard fittings look great and have nicely patinaed with age. They match the crossguards in color, patina and condition. The ball is perfect and all four screws remain tightly intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The reverse of the lower crossguard is marked, “Ho”, Hochland (correctly stamped to the far right). The attractive redwood grip looks excellent! It shows the common pressure marks throughout. There are no flakes or chips. The grip / crossguard fits are near perfect! The solid nickel eagle retains beautiful details. The SA roundel has a perfect fit and retains 99% of its enamel. A fine example of an early SA Dagger!
