A Transitional Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser. The ricassoed mottoed blade on this one has wear and evidence of honest period use. The maker mark most likely was lightly etched and has worn off with no evidence of who made it. Not to worry I've seen this before. The acid etched “Blut und Ehre!” motto is clearly visible. The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates Exc+. It shows the common age grey and surfaces throughout. The original leather buffer pad is remains intact. The steel based black enamel painted scabbard looks excellent! It retains 90%+ paint coverage and remains completely dent free! The folded black leather strap shows wear and some dry rot while remaining completely intact. If you are careful with it it will be fine. It retains all of its rivets and the snap continues to work very well! The steel based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 95%+ of its plated finish. Typical wear from the snap and reverse rivet. The black bakelite checkered grip plates are in near perfect shape and are secured by two solid steel rivets. The "wiggly" HJ diamond shows a bit of damage to the enamel.
