An Early Model 1933 Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch by Email Kaiser & Co. of Solingen. This one rates 10 out of 10 for rarity on McSaar's SA rarity ratting. The blade on this one looks good! The acid etched “Alles für Deutschland” motto and “Email Kaiser & Co. Solingen” maker mark are both dark, crisp and beautifully executed! The crossgrain is looks great as you shine it in the light. The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point! This blade rates a Exc++. It shows some evidence of cleaning, surface scratches and age grey/spotting throughout. The steel based brown anodized scabbard looks excellent. The scabbard body shows minor oxidization spotting throughout along with one line pressure mark to the reverse. The solid nickel scabbard fittings look excellent! The ball remains perfectly round and all four scabbard screws remain tightly intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The reverse of the lower crossguard is marked “Om” (Ostmark). One of the rarer gau marks. All of the fitting show nice matching patina. The brown hardwood grip shows many pressure marks, two hairline cracks and several flake chips above the roundel. The solid nickel eagle retains beautiful details! It looks like someone put some brown wax in the right of the eagle. The SA roundel has nice patina, a perfect fit and retains 99%+ of its enamel. A rare example!
