Early SA Dagger by Spalteneder

Please note this item is no longer available and you were redirected to our Archives.

An Early Model 1933 Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch by Spalteneder of München. This one rates 8 out of 10 for rarity on McSaar's SA rarity ratting. The blade on this one has been cleaned. The acid etched “Alles für Deutschland” motto is faint yet still visible and the double oval “Spaltender München” maker mark remains dark and crisp. The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit is nice and tight. This blade rates an Exc. It has been cleaned and still shows age grey, spotting and surface scratches. The steel based brown anodized scabbard looks good. It clearly shows the spots where the lacquer held the finish. It remains dent free! The solid nickel scabbard fittings look excellent. The lower has a slight gap in its fit yet the patina and spotting match perfectly. The ball has some bruises. All four scabbard screws remain tightly intact. The reverse of the lower crossguard is marked “Ho” – Hochland, and is to the far right as always. The brown hardwood grip looks great! It has a crack just above the roundel and a flake chip to the reverse. The solid nickel eagle retains beautiful detail and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel has a perfect fit and retains 95%+ of its enamel. A rare example to get!
