Just purchased from the Veterans Family. A Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by RZM M7/38 - Paul Seilheimer of Solingen. The blade on this one looks great! The stamped and blackened “RZM M7/38” maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed! It has a solid fit and a perfect tip. The blade rates an easy Exc++/NM. It shows the common runner marks and minor age spotting / surfaces scratches but that's it. The original black leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based, black enamel painted scabbard is in excellent condition! The paint is 99% intact and it remains completely dent free! The folded over blackened leather strap retains all of its rivets and the personalized snap continues to work well! The leather is in wonderful condition! It is LFS marked but its so faint its practically illegible. The hilt is constructed out of a zinc alloy base that has been nickel-silver plated. It is cracked to the quillion and both sides. The plating remains in excellent condition, being 95%+ intact. The two black checkered, bakelite grip plates are tightly secured to the hilt by two steel rivets. To the center obverse of the grip has a beautiful HJ diamond with 99%+ enamel remaining! An good find!
