An Early Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by Anton Wingen Jr. of Solingen. The blade on this one looks good. The acid etched “Blut und Ehre!” motto and “Anton Wingen Jr. Solingen” Knight maker mark are all beautifully executed! The fit continues to remain nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates an Exc++. It shows surface scratches and age grey/spotting throughout along with some rough spots to the cutting edge. The buffer pad is lost to time. The steel based scabbard has been re-blued and the leather changed. The scabbard body and runner are original. It continues to remain completely dent free. The leather, rivets and snap were added. The steel based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 99% of its plating. The black checkered grip plates look good. The obverse features a crack which is quite common for Anton Wingen Jr. HJ knives. They are tightly secured to the hilt with two solid nickel-silver rivets. The HJ diamond retains 99%+ of its enamel. An early mottoed one!
