A Transitional Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by RZM M7/37 1936 – Rbt Klaas of Solingen. The knife alone was purchased from the veteran’s family. The scabbard I had separately and was restored, the scabbard body and runner are original. The blade on this one has been sharpened. The acid etched “Blut und Ehre!” motto remains mostly intact and. The “Rbt Klaas Solingen” and “RZM M7/37 1936” maker marks are all crisp and beautifully executed. It has a solid fit. The blade rates VG/Exc. It has obviously been sharpened and has very have throughout. The original black leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based black painted scabbard has been restored. The body has been re-painted and the leather, rivets and snap has all be re-done. The hilt is constructed out of a steel base that has been nickel-silver plated. It retains 97% of its plating. The two black checkered bakelite grip plates are in excellent condition being secured by aluminum rivets. They have a slight wiggle. To the center obverse of the grip is a HJ diamond with 99%+ enamel remaining. A solid example.
