A Model 1933 SS Dagger (Schutzstaffel Dienstdolch) by Robert Klaas of Solingen. The blade on this one is stunning! The acid etched “Meine Ehre Heißt Treue” motto and kissing cranes “Robert Klaas Solingen” maker mark are both dark, crisp and beautifully executed! They truly provide a wonderful contrast to the bright minty blade! The full crossgrain is stunning as you shine it in the light! The blade is nicely seated up against the hilt and the and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates a solid Mint-! It shows the slightest traces of spotting and surface scratches throughout and I’m being anal. The steel based black anodized scabbard looks great. It retains a nice dark finish. It has the odd surface scratch. It continues to remain completely dent free! The scalloped nickel-silver based scabbard fittings are in wonderful condition. They show nice age patina. All four scabbard screws remain intact. The scabbard to crossguard fit is perfect! The nickel-silver crossguards look excellent as well, matching the crossguards perfectly in color and patina. The reverse of the lower crossguard is stamp “III” (Berlin). The black died hardwood grip is in excellent ondition! There are a few pressure marks to the back and the slightest hits to the left side of the eagle. A beautiful grip! The solid nickel-silver eagle is wonderfully detailed. The SS roundel retains 99%+ of its enamel and has a perfect fit! This one comes with a vertical hanger and loop. This is a gorgeous piece that is sure to please!
