A M1937 Fliegerdolch by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen. A textbook configuration Eickhorn Luftwaffe Dagger. The blade looks excellent. The stamped “Original Eickhorn Solingen” squirrel maker mark is beautifully executed. The crossgrain is stunning against the light. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade on this one rates in at NM. The blue pebbled leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The scabbard is steel based and "airplane gray" finished. It remains completely dent free. It depicts nice detail throughout with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. The alloy based "airplane gray" finished crossguard has nice detail to the eagles head, feathers, wings and top side hand enhanced oak leaves and acorns. The steel ferrule and burnished aluminum pommel both look excellent. The gold gilded swastika is a real treat on this one! 80%+ gilding remains intact. The trylon grip has the odd hit throughout, yet hold that nice orange tone you want to see. The springy aluminum wire wrap remains tightly intact. Included is the correct portepee. It is lightly frayed and worn. A great example of an Eickhorn 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger.
