A Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by RZM M7/42 1940 -WKC of Solingen. The blade on this one looks good. The “RZM M7/42 1940” maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed. It has a perfect fit and sharp tip. The blade rates Exc++. The blade has been sharpened and shows minor pitting and age grey throughout. The original blackened leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based black re-painted scabbard looks good. It retains 96%+ paint coverage and remains dent free. The folded over blackened leather strap retains all of its rivets and the snap continues to work well! The hilt is constructed out of a zinc base that has been nickel-silver plated. The plating remains in excellent condition, being 96%+ intact. The two black checkered grip plates are in near perfect condition and secured with two steel grip rivets. To the center obverse of the grip is a HJ diamond with perfect enamel. A great piece!
