Ok, so I vet purchased this back in 2006 and sold it to a valued customer. I had a letter with this at one time but unfortunately it is lost to time. However I have a photo of him with this, luckily the photo is stapled to the flag so it stayed!! This one's a double sided printed red, white and black National War flag. It's made of a coarse cotton as opposed to the softer type later used in the period. To the hoist end of the flag is a stitched on white reinforcing edge that has a lanyard running through the length of it, for easy mounting and dismounting. The white reinforcing edge has black printed markings that read: "Reichskriegsflg. 1,0 X 1.7" along with the maker mark. There are also two separately applied reinforcing patches to the corners where you can see the strings. The top and bottom have six reinforcing stitches. The fly end of the flag has been folded over and also has six reinforcing stitches. I know it doesn't look like it from the pictures, but there are some wee pin holes.
