A 2. Klasse Tapferkeits und Verdienst Auszeichnung für Ostvölker in bronze. The 2nd Class Ostvolk Medal in Bronze was awarded for outstanding service to the war effort to personnel from the former Soviet Union. The award is constructed out of a die struck, zinc base that has been bronze washed. The obverse depicts a centrally placed rosette flower that is surrounded by a laurel leaf wreath that is encircled by a rope pattern, on top of two crossed broad swords and an eight point sunburst pattern. The reverse shows a semi-hollow flat back. This piece comes with approximately 3 1/4 inches of folded over stained green ribbed rayon ribbon that has been stitched together. As with most of these the wash has been absorbed by the zinc. The award measures approximately 1 9/16 inches wide and tall. It continues to hold nice detail!
