Early SA Dagger by J. Dirlam & Söhne

Here we have a nice rare (8 out of 10 on McSaar) Model 1933 SA Dagger (Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch) by J. Dirlam & Söhne of Solingen. The blade on this one is has age. The dark and crisp acid etched “Alles fur Deutschland” motto and “J. Dirlam & Söhne Solingen” manufacturer’s mark are both crisply executed! The blade was recently obtained from Vet's family. It has age likely from old fingerprints. I have not tried to clean it other than wipe off the old oil. The fit is nice and tight and tip comes to a perfect point, it's never been apart! The dent-free scabbard is steel based and has oxidization. The solid nickel silver scabbard fittings look great! The ball has a bruise. The screws remain intact and unturned. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The crossguards match the scabbard fittings in wear, color and patina. The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gau stamped “HO”, Hochland (always stamped to the far right). The brown hardwood grip looks excellent! It is crack free with a wee flake to the upper obverse crossguard fit, along with the common pressure marks. It is really very nice. The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed and has an ok fit. The SA roundel also has a perfect fit and retains 98%+ of its enamel but has some age. Included is the original 3 pc hanger this came in with. A very rare maker mark You will have a tough time finding another!
