A 2nd Model - Bahnschutz Dolch (Modell 1938) by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen. The blade on this one looks excellent! The acid etched “Original Eickhorn Solingen” squirrel maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed. The blade has some clouding and the last few mm of the tip has a wee bit of a wave in it like it was bent at some point. The original leather buffer pad remains intact. The light weight aluminum scabbard is the throatless type with silver plating that has beautifully patinaed with time. It shows some age bubbling. It remains completely dent free. The railway winged wheel crossguard is nicely detailed. For you guys who check me against the textbook, yes the die flaw is present. The scabbard, crossguard, ferrule pommel cap and top are all non-magnetic and silvered, featuring perfectly matching patina throughout. The black bakelite grip is in perfect condition. No cracks, chips or hits. Overall this is an excellent example fit for your collection!
