Early August Bickel SA Dagger

Please note this item is no longer available and you were redirected to our Archives.

A Model 1933 SA Dagger (Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch) by August Bickel of Steinbeck-Hallenberg. The blade on this one looks good! The acid etched "Alles fur Deutschland" motto and "AB August Bickel of Steinbach/Hallenberg" maker mark are beautifully executed! The fit remains nice and tight. The crossgrain is mostly cleaned out and you can see some fine longitudinal scratches down the blade like a someone used a brillo pad, I know it sounds bad, it's not. The blade rates an Exc+. The brown anodized scabbard body remains dent-free but there are small pressure marks. It has some dots of oxidization. The solid nickel scabbard fittings and crossguards remain in great shape! They have matching patina and wear. All four screws remain intact. The ball retains its original round shape. The reverse of the lower crossguard is lightly Groupe marked "Mi",Mitte. The scabbard / crossguard fit is near perfect and closes with a snap! The lacquered hardwood grip looks great with a "tigerstripe" line down the middle! It is cheip and crack-free with normal wee hits and marks from wear. The grip / crossguard fits are near perfect! The solid nickel eagle has a perfect fit. The SA roundel also has a perfect fit and retains 100% of its enamel! A nice piece, here for the taking!
