A nice extra cost feature was stag grips! The bright plated unmarked blade is in excellent condition with just a wee bit of plating loss toward the hilt. The blade rates Exc++. There are just light runner marks but that's it. The leather buffer pad remains. The black enamel painted scabbard has some surface oxidation and remains dent-free. 97% of the original paint remains intact. The original throat retaining screw remains intact and unturned. It scabbard fits the hilt perfectly! The nickel-silver plated alloy hilt has good plating and a fully functioning mortise button. There is a post-war green wool felt plug in the mortise slot. The blade is very slightly loose in the hilt and it will rattle if you shake it just so, this is a function of the zinc hilt shrinking over the past 80 years and common. The multi-toned stag grips plates are well fit and secured with 2 spanner nuts. They are in near perfect condition with no cracks or chips anywhere.
