The aluminum fittings are pristine throughout. The pommel edges are still factory crisp with no hits anywhere. The edge has fine engraved oak leaves and acorns running around its surface. The two sunwheel swastikas have 100 percent gild on their surfaces and really stick out nicely. The crossguard center area also has 100 percent gild to the sunwheels. The crossguard arms are extremely well defined with lots of hand engraving to accent the feathering. The carved wood grip is covered with exceptionally fine blue Moroccan leather. The leather remains in perfect condition throughout still having its grain. The grip is wrapped with triple aluminum wire the center being twisted for effect. The scabbard is straight and is covered with matching blue Moroccan leather also having all its grain. There are virtually no signs of wearing to this leather as it is still in mint condition. The scabbard mounts are the beautiful aluminum type showing virtually no age and still being nice and bright exactly matching the aluminum of the hilt. The mounts are retained by headless side screws which are all in place. Attached to the carrying rings at the top is an exceptionally fine mint condition leather crescent hanger. This blue leather exactly matches the scabbard. It is equipped with an aluminum closed style clip. The ca. 90cm long blade is also in excellent condition exhibiting minor age and having highest quality nickel plating, complete with its needle like tip. The ricasso is etched with the Horster manufacturers trademark. The original blue blade washer is in place.
