Schirmmütze für Sommer. Nice quality, unworn private purchase, Officers white top visor cap consists of a removable, white, cotton/rayon blend, waffle, (pique), patterned top with white cotton/rayon blend piping to the forward edge of the crown. The removable top fits securely to the formed body of the cap. Cap features a black, horizontally ribbed, mohair centerband, and bright, interwoven, silver/aluminum braid piping to both the top and bottom edges of the centerband. Front center of the cap has a hand embroidered, Luftwaffe eagle, clutching a canted, swastika in its talons, in bright silver/aluminum wire and bullion threads with pale grey accent threads on a cut-out, white wool base. Removable eagle is secured to the cap by three prongs that are inserted through three stitched eyelets. Front center of the centerband has a hand embroidered, winged, oak-leaf wreath in silver/aluminum wire threads with tan accent threads, encompassing a national tri-color. National tri-color cockade is constructed of black and silver/aluminum wire threads with a red. Winged wreath and cockade are mounted on a cut-out black wool base which is neatly handstitched in place. Cap has an interwoven, twisted silver/aluminum braid chin cord, which is secured to the cap by two, small, silver washed, pebbled, alloy buttons. Cap has a black lacquered vulcanfibre visor with a machine stitched, simulated leather lip to the forward edge. Interior of the cap has a wide light tan leather sweatband with ventilation perforation to the front forehead section. Sweatband has impressed, silvered, script which repeats the manufacturer’s acronym, "Erel", and includes, "Stirnschutz", (Forehead Protection), "D.R.G.M.", indicating, Deutsche Reichs Gebrauchsmuster, (German National Registered Design), and, "D.R.P.angem.", indicating, Deutsche Reichs Patent angemeldet, (Adapted to {the} German National Patent). "56 ½". Size tag still attached at rear of sweatband. Cap is in unworn condition with light to moderate age and storage toning to the white top as to be expected. Nice untouched white top!
