H 50.6 mm x W 50.5 mm, weighing ca. 29.1 grams; original case of issue; constructed of heavy pressed paper with a red leatherette exterior; embossed with a golden national eagle on the outside lid with a golden line on all four edges of the top lid; interior of the lid lined in off-white velvet; embossed “Orden vom Deutschen Verdienstkreuz 1. Stufe” in golden lettering on the inside of the lid; with a black recessed medal bed; functional clasp for opening and closing; intact interior hinge cover; functional exterior metal hinge; extremely fine condition; measuring ca. 180 mm x 140 mm.
