An Early Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by Christianswerk of Solingen. The blade on this one looks great. The acid etched “Blut und Ehre!” motto, the “Christians Solingen” maker mark and “Ges. Geschützt” patent mark are all crisp and beautifully executed! The crossgrain is looks wonderful against the light. The fit is nice and tight. The blade rates an Exc++. It has a dulled tip, along with surface scratches and age grey throughout. The buffer pad is lost to time, as is typical with these early examples. The scabbard is steel based and black enamel painted. Traces of the paint remains. There are a few hits to the edges. The brown scabbard leather is in great condition. The snap continues to work well. The cap portion is lost to time. The steel based nickel-silver plated hilt looks good. Typical wear. The black bakelite checkered grip plates are in excellent condition and are tightly secured to the hilt with two solid nickel-silver rivets. The HJ diamond retains 99%+ of its enamel. A great piece!
