Wow what a beautifully patinaed early example direct from the Vet's family! The high quality plated blade rates an easy Exc++/NM! What a beauty! The tip is perfect, the fit is nice and tight and the plated finish gives a super shine! There is just a bit of age but that's it. The blade is seated on a pebbled blue leather washer into the solid nickel crossguard. Look careful at the maker mark. These early Malsch maker marks were engraved! Neat. The hilt fittings are all early silver washed nickel with wonderful undisturbed patina. These fittings are inserted with brass roundels which create the golden swas's. The grip is triple brass factory wire wrapped. The nickle chain has 14 lower and 9 upper ringlets terminating at a well working clip. The scabbard is nicely leather wrapped with some pressure marks and period wear. I was tempted to clean it up with some Moroccan blue shoe polish but want it left untouched. All 5 screws are all intact. The leather is all original. This is a wonderfully patinaed that is in excellent condition!
